giggles

I love this clip of Molly's giggle. She is so sweet.
Been sick the last 24 hours with a 102 degree fever. No other symptoms. Hope it is just teeth.

Just Playing

Today I cleaned out Molly's room. It seems like with a baby there are always things to go through. Toys. Clothes. Shoes. I got all all the totes and put the outgrown clothes into different totes. While I did that, Molly figured out that there is a drawer under her crib. This is what she did in it.
After her nap today I was finishing putting the laundry away and this is what Molly has been doing for the last 30 min. She really loves books. For church we don't even pack toys, just a whole bag full of books. Maybe it is because her daddy reads to her every night. He started doing that several months ago and I am positive it is her favorite time of day.

So You Think You're Crafty

My friend Missy started a blog called "So You Think You're Crafty" several months ago. It has been so fun to watch and see what people come up with. She gives them a theme each week that they have to create a craft around. Then you can vote and the best crafter wins. It has got a lot of creative juices flowing in me too. I am by no means a crafter, but I have REALLY enjoyed TRYING to be one. Here are some of the things I have made in the last 4 months.
A ribbon blanket I made for Molly.
Binkie Bunny, Clyde, and Mohawk Monkey were made by Nick out of old fuzzy socks, buttons, etc.
This bag I made at an Enrichment night. I use it as my church bag.
This is a wreath that I did not make. My friend Missy made it and gave it to me. I just love it!
I made this family book for Molly to look through at church.
This soft Mr. Potato Head was for Molly's 1st birthday.
This was a car kit that I made. I got the idea from here.
I loved how these dresses turned out. They are both a little big for Molly but I can't wait until they fit. (I also made the matching flower bows.
A crayon caddy.
PS-One of the biggest projects was a quiet book. It deserves a post of its own. Coming Soon!

Pig Tails

I just love having a girl! I like experimenting on ways to do her hair. She isn't very patient unless she is watching a baby einstein though. Today I tried full pig tails thinking her hair wasn't long enough, but it was. How many 13 month old babies do you know with full pig tails?!? What a cutie! I couldn't get her to look at the camera.
PS- I made the dress shirt and bows in her hair. Trying my hand at crafting. I liked how it turned out.

Be Mine

This weekend has been a lot of fun. Nick and I trade off each year on who is "in charge" of planning something for Valentines. My friend Michelle and I planned a fun time with our hubbys. Michelle and Jared came Friday night, (a surprise to both men) and we dropped the kids off at my sisters (thanks Jess), while we went out to dinner. The rest of the night we just hang out and talked. On Saturday we went to the mall for a picture scavenger hunt. Michelle had made fortune cookies. In each cookie was something we had to find and take a picture of. It was really fun. (the 3 couples were competing...us, the bodilys and jensens.)
"Something Sweet" "Sentimental Words" "Kissing" and "A ring like yours" were just a few of the things we had to find.
Then we went back to the house and the kids played. After a yummy taco soup for lunch the Bodily's headed home. About an hour later my friend Amanda and her family came to visit. I hadn't seen her since I was pregnant with Molly, so it was really fun to catch up. We watched the movie FireProof and then babysat my nephews so my sister could have a date. What a great weekend!! I used to not really appreciate Valentines Day, but now I love it! It reminds me again how blessed I am to have such a great husband, baby, family and friends. Life is good to us!

In her mothers footsteps...

I have to blog about this for memory sake. Molly has been following in my footsteps lately in a way that I hope will be good. :) I have caught her on several occasions, "organizing." For those that know me, I love to have a clean house and an organized one. I am not the best at it, but I am constantly trying to get better at it and learn new things about organizing. It is always a joke in our family that if I say I am going to "clean the house," I always start in a closet. Anyway, the other day I went in Molly's room to find her taking the bows off her ribbon holder and putting them in a small vase like thing. When we went to a restaurant, she was taking out the sugar packets and then putting them back in-between the other colors. She loves to pull her toys out of the basket, but enjoys putting them back just as well. One day she spilled the whole basket of socks in her room. I went in and said, "Molly, we need to clean up," and she went right to the socks and started putting them away. Hopefully this continues through her life.

Cuddles

Molly ended up with the flu bug the very next day. We did a lot of cuddling this weekend. Even though we were under the weather, mom and Grandpa Echer came over to cheer us up. (and cute my hair and work on a quiet book for Molly) Here is a picture of Grandpa reading with Matthew. It was so cute how he cuddled up with him. Later for nap time, he didn't want his own couch he wanted to lay with Grandpa.
PS-post and pictures of our crafting the quiet book still to come.
