Fast Sunday

We are recruiting fasts and prayers this fast Sunday for our little future family. Yes, I just found out we are expecting again. For those who didn't know, I miscarried our last little one at 10 weeks. I am super nervous!! I am praying for strength. We are very excited, but I guess, feeling a little cautious. I have had to do tons of blood work, but the dr. called today and said my levels went from a 12 to 39. (which I guess is good) We had an ultrasound done too and got to hear the heartbeat. We are only 7 weeks along tomorrow, and feel it is too early to tell, but I would feel much more at ease knowing our family and friends are fasting & praying for us and our little one.

We made the move to Cedar City! It went as smooth as a move can go, and we are almost unpacked. A good feeling. I haven't been feeling well, but we are surviving. Nick doesn't start his fieldwork until Monday, so we have a few days together. Our friends here welcomed us back by taking us to breakfast, (thanks Mickels) Bring soup for lunch, (thanks Pointers) Grocery shopping for us (thanks Askeroths) and just being excited for us being back.

We already miss our friends in Vegas, but can't wait for you to come and visit us in Cedar. We have a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath, so friends are welcome.

May 23rd

So much to write about, but such little time. We are packing up to move this weekend. We will officially move Monday morning. We will miss our ward and friends here. Today was my last day with my students. I will miss them, but I won't miss much else about my job. That story deserves a post of its own, so be watching for it. Nick graduated last weekend. We had such a great time with family and friends. We have had a great support here and we are so thankful. After the move, we will write again. Until then- Happy Memorial Day.

Happenings:

This weekend Nick will graduate with his Masters of Occupational Therapy from Touro University. We are really excited, even though he will still have 3 months of unpaid fieldwork before he can take his national boards and really be done. Can't wait to see him in his cap and gown!!

I thought I would also share one of Nick's recient paintings. He did this painting for his Aikido instructors as a thank you. He has really LOVED taking his aikido class (thanks mom) and hopes somehow to keep it up after we move.

Weekend Away...Still like Vegas

So this weekend I surprised Nick with a weekend away. The family that I have been tutoring for, got us a night stay at a place in Primm. I had never been there before and was excited for a weekend away from the city with just me and my hubby! We got there and shopped at the outlet mall. Then had dinner and hung out. Later that night, we decided to check out the other casinos. (all connected by a monerel) Nothing too exciting. Just drunks, gambling, and smoke. I thought we were getting away from that. So we decided to just get an ice cream and go back to the room. We went to Hagen Das and for one scoop of ice cream it was over $6. We decided to go to McDonalds instead and get a $1 hot fudge sundae. Much more our style. There was a red box there, so we got a movie and went back to our room. So much for the Sidwell's knowing how to party, I guess we are easy to please. It was nice to have some alone time together.

Only 2 weeks before we move. Anyone want 2 cute goldfish? They won't be coming with us. First one who wants them gets them. :)

Nick's Blog has gone the way of all the Earth

Sorry guys, Nick's blog is no more. He will still write on here though but no personal blogging. Think of it as spring cleaning in cyberspace or a firendly merger... guess you'll just have to check here more often!

More Cakes

I probably should quit posting cakes that I have made. It isn't the most interesting posts. I guess it is just exciting to me to try out a new skill. Bridget Pehrson gave me my first lesson on cake decorating, and the rest has just been practicing on my own.

This last weekend was my nephew Dallin's 4th birthday, so I used the McQueen cake pan to make a Dinico car cake for his birthday. Then the next day my brother blessed his new twins, Ethan and Noah, so I made these cakes for the dinner after the blessing. It was a lot of fun to be home and see my family. Nick wasn't able to come and I was anxious to get back home to him, so I ended up coming home 2 days earlier than I planned.
