And the winner is Logan...plus 16 weeks along

A lot has happened since our last post. We have been doing some heavy praying and contemplating, and on Monday Nick accepted the offer in Logan. We are excited and have begun the house hunting. (thanks Jess for looking at the places for us) The job is in the school district doing occupational therapy with kids. It will be wonderful because he will have an OT salary, but a teacher schedule. (summers off, big Christmas break, etc.) I am grateful that he is done with school and that I will be able to stay home with our little one. (seen below 16 weeks, 4 days old)

Today we had an appointment with my OB/GYN. It went really well. The baby seems to be growing (although I have only gained 1 pound so far this pregnancy) and is healthy. We got to see it moving, kicking, and waving. What a miracle! They tried to check the gender, but we didn't see anything yet...it may be too early though. We have our official gender ultrasound in 3 weeks. I can't wait! In fact, I usually walk by the baby sections at stores with my eyes practically closed, so I don't buy anything, but yesterday I couldn't help it. These two outfits were so cute and since we don't know what we are having yet, I bought both. I can always return one when we find out what we are having right?

Wonderful Weekend

Nick and I have spent the last 4 days in Monticello Utah. Nick was interviewing down there. It was so much fun to be there withmy sister and her family!! We played, looked at houses, went to the San Juan Pagent, ate great food, went to a parade, and watched fireworks. Thanks Hatch's for hosting us and making us feel so great there!

Monticello or Logan? That is the Question!

Well, the last few days have been spent on the road. On Saturday night Nick and I went to Les Miserable in St. George. It was amazing! Being there reminded us of Henderson because it was so hot and never cooled down. We miss our friends and ward there.

On Sunday we drove up to Lehi first to see my 2 brothers and their families. It was so great to see and visit with them!!! New baby Nathan was so cute! It made me really excited about our baby on the way. We still had 2 hours to drive to make it to Logan before dark, so Nick peeled me off my brothers couch and off we went. I wasn't feeling well the whole way up, so when we arrived at my sisters house, I went to bed.

The next day I felt much better. Nick left for his interview at 8, while I hung out with Jess and her 2 boys. Then Nick picked me up and the other OT's took us to lunch. After that...5 1/2more hours on the road.

So the question...Monticello or Logan? Nick got an offer in Monticello SEVERAL months ago, when we were still in Vegas. The company he would work for is awesome with great people. The money is good and my sister Sherstin and her family live there, so that is a plus. The only con...the job is working mostly with adults and older adults. Logan job is with kids. (and for those who know Nick, this is his knack) He said after interviewing, that this was his dream job. The money is about the same as Monticello, housing would be a little more, but I have my sister Jessica that lives there. We are so torn. It seems like the pros and cons of both are equal. So...

Tomorrow we head to Monticello for the weekend so Nick can go to work with the guys there and try it out for 2 days. Then we will be making some decisions. (Staying in Cedar is still an option too.)

We have a baby appointment next week and I am excited about that. I am now 15 weeks, and I have begun to get a baby bulge.

Family Pictures

Two posts in one day may be overdoing it for me, but I just got back some pictures we got last week and wanted to share. Last weekend Nick's whole family came and stayed for a few days. It was a little crazy hosting so many, but it went well and we had a good time. The Sidwell's haven't had their family picture taken for about 10 years, so I recruited Amy Mickel to take our family pictures.

This cute smile Nick is making is one he makes a lot when I catch him looking at me. I love it!

The last 2 days my mom and sister came to visit. It was so awesome!! They totally spoiled me! We went out to eat a lot, visited, & went to the park. I wasn't feeling well while they were here, so they mostly took care of me. You should see how CLEAN my house is. They were busy while I was sleeping. Thanks mom and Jess!!

Memory Tag

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
This tag can be for anyone in our family : Sarah or Nick

Don't Count your Chickens before they Hatch

So at 12 weeks I was feeling better, only they day after posting and everyday since haven't been the best. I guess it was good to enjoy a few good days there though. I am staying hopeful. This time will pass...right?!? I will be through my first trimester on Monday...a big accomplishment. For those that have asked, I'm not showing yet, but I do like to wear looser jeans so things don't feel tight on my tummy.

We did have a good 4th of July. We went to the parade and then later that day my parents came down. They took us to The Garden House, a yummy restaurant here in Cedar. On Saturday, we just hung out, shopped a little and ate. Unfortunately, that led to a evening of sick, but I guess it was worth it. It was fun having mom and dad here. We were very thankful to spend time with them.

It must be pregnancy, but I sure cry a lot easier then I used to. When we were at the parade, and the crowd quieted down and stood up as the flag went by, tears came to my eyes as I was reminded how blessed we are to live in this country. I am grateful to be able to have freedom of religion. I have such a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I was reminded not to take that for granted. Happy Week to you all.

12 weeks

Picture of a baby at 12 weeks.

Today I had a doctors appointment. It was actually scheduled for next Monday, but I had a little scare last night, so I changed it. For some reason, after I laid in bed for an hour or so, my heart started racing and pumping really hard. Nick came in and listened and it was irregular. So what does that mean when you are pregnant? Who knows, I swear EVERYTHING is considered "Normal" when you are pregnant. My friend Tiffany Nunley Johnson is an ER nurse and so she came and checked my blood pressure and listened to my heart for a while. It seemed to calm down, but it was scary enough for me to move up my apt. a few days.

Anyway, the doctor described the whole heart thing exactly as it happened. He gave it a name that I can't remember, but said not to worry about it unless it starts happening more than 5 times a day. He also did some blood work to check the thyroid just in case. I have the worst veins. I hate it. The babys heartbeat was good (165bpm) so I was happy about that, and the doctor gave me the ok to start to exercise, and travel. I also get to quit my hormone next week. Yeah. Also, I haven't thrown up in 5 days! You could say, I am happy and thankful!!
