Disneyland 2016

So many amazing memories from our  trip to California this month.  It was seriously the BEST VACATION EVER!  We were so spoiled and were blessed with health, safety, food, fun and love.
On the drive down we were able to stop for pizza with our friends the Askeroths.  We enjoyed dinner and a nice visit.  Then we headed further south. We weren't sure how far we would go so when we were just out of St. George we were deciding where to stay the night.  Since the girls were doing well, we decided to head all the way to Vegas, but what I didn't realize until we were in the middle of nowhere was that I needed gas!  I looked down and was on empty.  Nick googled the closest gas station and it was 10 miles away.  Luckily we made it.  That was the most anxiety  I felt on the trip and it was on the way there.

We stayed our first night in Vegas at the Mayers house.  They were kind enough to let us stay even though they weren't there. (Out of town for a family reunion)  We left to Cali in the morning and stopped for lunch with Jared and Ashley Jones.  Again we enjoyed good food and friends.  It was a cloudy day and we had planned to go to the beach but decided to head to the motel for dinner and early bedtime.

The next morning we attended a sweet ward right close to the motel.  (Molly said to me today-two Sundays later, that she missed her church friends at Disneyland.)  After church we went to Newport beach with the Jensens.  We didn't get in the water since it was Sunday but the kids made sand castles and looked for shells.  We saw dolphins and a sea horse.  That night we all had dinner in mom and dads room and later that night when everyone had arrived we met out by the pool and got our theme for the year, MMM-Make Magical Memories.

The next morning-Monday- we headed to spend the day at Disneyland.  We met up with the Hatches and spent most of the day with them.  Since I was in a wheelchair I got to go to the front of the line or have a fast pass. It proved to be the silver lining in breaking my foot right before our trip.   Close to closing we went on Small World and when we got off the parade had started so we watched the parade and fireworks.

The next morning was a morning we could get in the park an hour early so we started the day nice and early.  That day-Tuesday- we spent time with Johns family- helping them to get to the front of the line too.  We had a yummy lunch at Aladens Oasis.  It was fun to all meet up there and the food was delicious. Then more rides and things to see.  That night we had special seating to see the parade.  Again we were all together and the kids enjoyed being all together with their cousins and dancing around to the parade music. "Paint the Night Parade."

Wednesday was our special day with mom and dad.  It started right at the front of the gate to head to bippity bop pity boutique.  One of my personal favorites of the trip.  The girls got a princess makeover and the royal treatment.  They looked so pretty in their princess dresses and crowns.  I took pics of our princesses and then we headed over to meet a few Disney princesses.  Mom and Dad took the girls so we could go on tower of terror and then we met up for lunch at Ariels Grotto.  Another favorite of mine.  Right on Paradise Pier.  The weather was perfect-company fantastic-food delicious and the girls got to meet Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, & Cinderella.  That night we went to the World of Color with my parents.  Sweet princess Avey couldn't keep her eyes open through it.

Thursday was our last day at Disneyland.  We spent it with Joseph and Jessica Jensens families.  I finally went on hyperspace mountain and I think we did small world a few more times too.  We mostly went on the rides we hadn't been able to go on yet.  Then we went back to the motel for swimming.  I was sad that the Disney part of our trip was over, but the girls went to bed early that night to prepare for the next day.

Friday early we left for Universal Studios.   On the way there Avey got car sick and threw up.  It was a colder morning so we all had jackets.  Mom and Dad got us Front of the Line passes so when we got there we got to go on the front of the line lines which went much faster.  Would have got to see much without it.  Hogsmead was amazing...just like out of the Harry Potter books.  We went to the owl post, got a wand, went through the castle, had a frozen butter beer and went to Olivanders where Kitahni and Desiree were chosen by their wands.  The rest of they day we went on the studio tour, special effects shows, despicable me and simpson rides, etc.

Saturday morning we packed up and drove home.  We stopped in Primm for a bathroom break and Johns family was at the same gas station with car problems.  We ended up bring home Will, Desiree and Cara.

Such a memorable trip!!
