Just Because

I love doing fun trips and surprises "Just Because." In fact I would usually rather do special trips, get flowers, etc. just for fun instead of for a holiday, anniversary or birthday. So just for fun I booked a room at the Anniversary Inn in Logan last night. I am still too chicken to leave Molly for very long. (Sorry Mom and Ali) So, we put Molly to bed last night and then Jess came and stayed the night. Molly didn't even know we were gone until this morning and then she just played with Jess, Bart and the boys until we got home from our relaxful getaway. We had a great time and loved just enjoying time together and relaxing. We stayed in Joanie's diner. It was a 50's themed room. I picked this room because it was one of the most expensive ones and I had a coupon for ANY suite for a certain price...so why not choose the most expensive, right?!? The diner part was super cute, but the bedroom reminded me of Professor Umbridge's office on Harry Potter 5. (Lots of pink, flowers and even porcelain kittens.) We sort of felt like we were sleeping at our grandmas. They did have a cool jukebox, a nice hot tub and a shower with
4 huge shower heads. Thanks for watching Molly Jess and thanks for a fun night Nick!
The download on bed and breakfasts: Over the corse of our 6.5 years of marriage we have been to several different bed and breakfast. We have been to the Green Gate Village, The Gardens, Anniversary Inn and Yardley Inn. I have to say that if you are ever looking to be pampered, our favorite was Yardley Inn. Anniversary Inn was fun because of the themed rooms, but I felt it lacked the coziness that I have felt in the other places we have stayed. The food was okay, but once again was beat by the competitors. (Not that anniversary inn wasn't great...we just have been to better) If you like Anniversary Inn, you have got to try the Yardley Inn. It is in Manti, so it is sort of out of the way, but it is so nice there. The last time we went there we had a candlelight steak dinner, which was SO GOOD, a suite with a hot tub and fireplace, 60 min. couple massages, time in the 2 person sauna, and a DELICIOUS breakfast of pumpkin pecan pancakes, herb scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruit. All of that for about $25 more than we spent for just the room at anniversary inn.

A few more crafts

So I have been working on decorating my family room. I decided to do a number theme. Then it sort of turned into a game theme too. I really like how it turned out so far. Still a few things to do but it is coming together. I made the dominos will 2X4's that I found outside. (yes we still live in a construction zone) I painted them the color of our trim and then sanded and stained it. Of corse they all make the number 7. (If you missed my post on our favorite number you will have to look back earlier in the month.) I did the same process with the scrabble game. My sister in law Julia made me the family home evening sign.
The other day I caught this shot. (It isn't very good, but I didn't want Molly to catch me taking it.) She climbed up in the baby doll crib to look out the window and watch the dozers and trucks. It was pretty cute!

Shadows

We went on a walk the other day and Molly found her shadow. It is amazing all the things that she is learning lately. She seems to be trying new words and activities everyday. I just love this girl! She is defiantly a daddy's girl. Whenever she hears the garage door going up she walks to the back door and calls "dadda" until Nick gets in. They are pals.

Young Women

Since we have lived in our new home I have been serving in the Young Women's organization in our ward. I have to admit I was a little nervous when I got the call, but I have loved it!! I have 4 wonderful laurels. They are strong ladies who try to do what is right. They are such great examples to me! About a month ago we had a few lessons on the temple. The girls asked a lot of good questions and we ended up having a laurel breakfast to finish out temple discussion. Then last night the girls and I went and did baptisms for the dead for 59 of my family names. (Thanks Mom) It was such a great experience. Here are some fun pictures from the trip.

Story Time

Ever since Molly was born Nick has read to her almost every night. She LOVES it. I realized I haven't taken pictures of this nightly routine. Thought I would also show her big bruise. Molly was walking around the house the other day with something covering her eyes. (She thought it was so funny) She tripped and hit the computer chair. Ouch.A day at the park.

i have a toddler

My baby is REALLY walking. By that I mean that she now prefers it over crawling. She has been able to walk really well for the last month, but if she fell, she would crawl to something to stand up. Now she does it all on her own. My little toddler. She also has been getting quite the vocabulary. She says, buby, please, up, pop, bubble, momma, dadda, zess, uh oh, wow, ball, wee, and a few others. Last night Nick told her that it was time for a bath so to go get her robe. She walked right to her closet to get her robe and then was dragging it to the bathroom. Too cute! She also really loves her new chair and her small Book of Mormon. She carries it everywhere. This is Molly touching the temple.

Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Mother's Day to my mothers, sisters, and friends. I hope that your day was special. I know mine was. On Saturday we went to Eagle Mountain to see Nick's family and attend Jeremy's Ballroom dance show. It was a ton of fun and I loved seeing my brother-in-law dance. He stole the show. We drove home that night. After about an hour of screaming Molly got so mad, from being stuck in the car and from only having a half hour nap the whole day, that she threw up. Yuck. We pulled over, cleaned her up and started off again. (I know that makes us sound like bad parents for letting her cry for an hour, but she was unconsolable and we were miles from home.) She did finally fall asleep. Yesterday I had to give the lesson in YW and Nick had to teach the 14-18 year old Sunday School class. Then I had to sing in sacrament meeting. It made for a pretty busy Sabbath. My mom and dad and sisters family all came to sacrament and then over to the house for a BBQ. Steaks & Fruit...Yumm. After dinner we went to the Logan temple grounds and took some pictures with my mother's day gift, a new CAMERA! Here are some shots. I haven't done any photoshopping or anything...straight from the camera.

Seven

Seven is my number. It is symbolic of being complete and whole. Well, 7 years ago today Nick proposed. (May 7th) Thank You Nicholas!! You have made my life complete and whole. For those of you wondering how he proposed...He called and asked me if we could do dinner that night. I was busying studying for finals (in my second to last semester of college) and thought a break would be great! Especially with my sweetheart. Nick picked me up and we went to his house. We went upstairs to his room and he had set up a red and white checkered blanket, candles, and fancy glasses. He made stir fry so we sat and ate our picnic dinner. (It was raining outside, which spoiled his plans of a real picnic outside) After we ate he handed me a book called "365 ways to kiss your love" and told me to pick my favorite. He picked his favorite too. Smooch! then he blindfolded me and took me to my bosses back yard. (this is where we first held hands and cuddled on the porch swing...while watering their garden when they were out of town) He got down on one knee and told me to take off the blindfold. He simply said, "Sarah, will you marry me?" I was so excited that I forgot to say yes. I was just squeeling, and hugging and kissing and then Nick said, "I hope that means yes. Thanks for asking!
This year we will celebrate our 7th anniversary on August 7th.
Some other sevens...7 diamonds in my engagement band, 7 diamonds in my wedding band, motel room 7 the night before we got married, 7 on my endowment tag, 7 was our first apartment, and the list goes on...seriously. Anyway, 7 will always be my number and I am thankful that 7 years ago Nick asked if I would be his forever.

Finger Paint

Today Molly did her first fingerpainting with her cousin Matthew. She loved it! Matthew was a little unsure about getting dirty and Molly wanted to eat it a few times but we managed to have a good time. I love her cute fingers. Here are some other fun shots this week.I just think it is so cute when she stands on her tiptoes.
Love the Mohawk!
Reading her Book of Mormon in her new chair.
Tortilla anyone?!?
