So much on my mind

There has been so much on my mind lately. Maybe if I write it all out, I will be able to process it/work on what needs to be worked on, etc. I have a friend (Shalise i'm talking about you) who writes on her blog like a journal. Every time I read hers I think that I need to do better keeping a history. this week we have a RS activity about preserving your past. I print my blog book each year and I figure if I don't write my history it wont be worth printing...I just use the excuse that I am too busy. So, here is my try.

1. I went to a Love and Logic seminar last weekend in Salt Lake. Thanks to my friend Michelle I was introduced to L&L about a year ago. Now that Molly is in her toddler years I feel it is so important to learn about!! It is hard for me to focus on it when I have many other things that are on my mind. Today I went to the library with Molly and looked for some more L&L books but they didn't have any in. I put them on hold. Hopefully when they get in, I will have/make time to read them. I really liked what I learned and heard, I just feel like I need more in order to really implement it.

2. Nick has started PUSH Therapy in our home. He has been certified for several months but he just finally got his business license and insurance to start his business. Here is a link to his website. It is still a work in progress, but you can take a look. If you are looking for someone to help relieve chronic muscle pain, give him a call. It is an awesome therapy with great success!!

3. We have been looking into buying a new car and are trying to decide if we should sell Nicks car or mine.

4. Like I mentioned before, I started a music group with Molly. I wanted her to be able to get together with kids her age to sing and dance. There is a group called Kindermusik that I really wanted to sign Molly up for, but it was a little expensive so I decided to do my own. I felt really self-conscious doing it. I haven't felt that way really since I taught school. I didn't like it...I felt like I was being judged somehow. Not that anyone said anything bad, but I feel like everyone is always watching me. Maybe because of my calling as RS president. It is hard to be in the spotlight all the time. I do much better as a wall flower. ANYWAY, Other than worrying about how I feel, Molly LOVES it. I love to watch her personality come out.

5. I have a really good friend going through marital problems. Wow...how hard. It does make me thankful to have such a totally incredible husband!

6. Nick has been SWAMPED at work. He loves working with kids, but this year he has hardly had any time to see this kids...there are meetings galore and way to much to do an not enough hours. It is hard to support him staying in the schools when he is UNDER appreciated, make about $25000 less then he would in rehab/hospital settings, and is always stressed out. Whenever we pray about a different place to work he has always felt like he needs to stay...but WHY?

7. RS Activities have been on my mind a lot too. After the new handbook training we really want to make sure our activities are PURPOSEFUL and a reason to actually leave your family other than to get away from the kids. It also means no craft nights for a RS activity. The new handbook says we can't charge for any activity including materials and we can't ask that the sisters bring their own supplies. Crafts have officially been RELEASED from the RS Activity arena, but I think some sisters may throw a fit over it. I hate that. To be honest, I love crafts, follow several craft sites, etc. but I really want to follow the guidelines from the church. I just know it is for the best.

8. Will it ever warm up and stay warm? I have spring fever SO BAD!

Hunters Service

All last week starting a week ago Sunday Molly had a fever. It lasted until Thursday when I finally took her to the doctor. She had no other symptoms but since the fever had not broke and she wouldn't eat again it was time. He did a strep test and it wasn't strep so I guess a virus had struck. Luckily it went away before our trip to Price, but she wasn't the happiest kiddo through the trip which proved to be a test for me. I guess because I wasfrustrated that the week after my nephews death, I wasn't able to help at all because I had a sick kid. We went down to Price on Friday night. Molly doesn't like to be in the car and she never falls asleep in the car either. (no matter how tired she is!) So it was quite a long ride. On Saturday the rest of the family came for Hunters graveside service. It was a snowy day but the service was perfect---just like Hunter. It has been a whirlwind of emotions the last 3 weeks.
Bath with cousins.
Yesterday I started a music group class with Molly. I call it "Movement and Music with Mom." There are 7 kids that come and we do puppets, instruments, movement, books, etc. The first day went well and I am excited for more. I think Molly really liked it. She has been walking around with her puppet on singing, "La La La" the last 2 days. Really cute!!

Gone Too Soon

My sister Jessica gave birth to an angel baby yesterday morning at 1:39 a.m. Hunter G. Jensen was born still weighing 15oz. and measuring 7.25 inches long. We are so thankful to all those who have supported our family and prayed for us in this hard time. It was such a blessing to meet Hunter. He was a perfectly formed...tiny tiny boy. I felt like I was on sacred ground holding that sweet body, knowing that his spirit was too pure to endure mortality fully. He came to get a body and was blessed to be born into the family he was. He will be buried in Price next Saturday. I will miss my sweet nephew but am thankful for forever families!!

Flowers & Smiles

Today I got this BEAUTIFUL flower arrangement from my sister Sherstin. It totally BRIGHTENED my day!! We are six year apart in age, and 5 hours away by car but still very close! I have the BEST family!! The other night Nick mentioned how cool it would be to live in a 3rd world country and help people. He said I would never do it because I can't leave my family for that long. I was sure to mention that I hadn't even talked to my sister that day. :) I love the relationship that I have with my parents, brothers and sisters (including the in-laws)

I took these pictures a few weeks ago, but never got around to posting them. I made this cute dress for Molly for Christmas. I love how it turned out. She it too cute!!

Happenings

Molly turned 2!! My baby is growing up. On her real birthday we didn't do much except go out to dinner and play on her new sled, (which she LOVED) but on Sunday, Nana and Papa Sidwell came and we had a party. She loved her 2nd cake...a Thomas cake. We had a great time playing games and eating and visiting.
Molly has been feeling much better! She is eating again and smiling and is back to being herself.

At 2 years old
*Says too many things to write. She is pretty easy to understand and usually uses please and thank you.
*loves Mickey Mouse, Thomas, Percy, Elmo, Boo, Tinkerbell and Snow White.
*loves to color, play with her toys and dance around
*likes to go to nursery
*is off the charts now for weight...we are working on that, but at her 2 year appointment she was only 20 lbs. (She was 18 at her 1st year appointment)
*she likes to watch mickey mouse clubhouse
*loves to play with her cousins
*likes to cuddle and "rocky rocky" before bed
*sleeps through the night
*loves baths with bubbles

It was also my birthday this week. I celebrated by trying to start potty training. Who knew it would be so hard. I guess it made for a disappointing day because I cleaned up more accidents then I ever hoped to, but I'm still trying. I feel like potty training is a lot like breast feeding. Neither of you quite know what to do to make things successful. I really had no idea it would be this challenging. Wish me luck.

Still Sick & Party

Molly hasn't really gotten better since the last post. For about a month she hasn't been great. She did get a little better for about a week...although that is when I had the stomach flu...but durning Christmas and New Years she was sick again. So finally Wednesday I took her to the doctor. He thought that it is just a virus, but gave us an antibiotic because of fluid in her ears. After 2 days of the antibiotic, this is what we began to see.
The poor girl has had a constant cough, sore throat, drainage and fever and now spots. We now know she is allergic to penicillin. She is on a new antibiotic now so we are hoping for some improvement.

My mom and dad came up for a birthday party for Molly this weekend. (It is a week early but we planned the party while my dad needed to be up north for a doctors appointment) I felt so bad because she was still sick but It was just what she needed to cheer her up. She had a princess party. She LOVED the cake, stickers, badge and present from grandma and grandpa Whitehead.
We didn't want her to blow out the candles on the cake and infect everyone so I just held them. She really liked blowing them out.
