Molly left us for a WHOLE WEEK after the reunion. I had a hard time letting her go, but she had so much fun at the Jensens and LOVED the classes she took and the things they learned. One class she took was theater make-up class. She loved making a cat face and practicing on her sister when she got home. She also liked her watercolor class a lot. Avey REALLY missed Molly for about 3 days. She talked about her constantly and even cried most of the first day Molly was gone. I think then she realized all the attention she got and didn't have have to share. Avey was sure happy when Molly got home. Right before Molly left for camp, she had grandma cut her hair to donate. Such a cute change!
We Are All Super Heros!!
This year we had the Whitehead Reunion up close to home since traveling is no fun 9 months pregnant. It started for us a little early because Yaerli had a doctor appointment in bountiful so the Hatches came early and stayed with us. The Jensens and John Whitehead family came early too and Julia too the kids old enough to do baptisms for the dead at the Ogden temple. Then we met up at the motel for swimming--ate dinner and headed to Ensign Peak! That is where we did our team cheers and everyone except mom, Yaerli and I hiked the mountain. We also got introduced to our theme, We are all super heros where mom and dad talked about our spiritual gifts.
The next morning we headed downtown SLC to do an urban adventure. Again I was not walking around all of SLC so Yaerli and I were the car that brought snack and water bottles to the teams. Everyone seemed to love the adventure! We cooled down at the Leonardo Museum, ate dinner and headed to Get Out Games for an escape room adventure. ALL SUPER FUN and AWESOME! Especially for the iron man family...us...we won each of the tasks. :) The last day was games, lunch and talent show. We are SO BLESSED to have such an awesome family!
This year we went in the circle by our house to celebrate with the Jones's. They have been such great neighbors especially this summer and I am thankful for them!
Backpacking trip to the Uintahs! Nick took the girls with Johns family. The girls had to carry their packs the whole hike. They did awesome and had an awesome time. Things to remember about the trip: Avey got about 30 mosquito bites. They built a snowman the first day of July. Avey found this wood piece that looked like the arches. No fish caught by the Sidwell clan. Horseback riding at the Stake daddy daughter campout. And playing a rubber band game there too. Topaz from a quick overnighter that Nick took Molly on. They were rock hounds for a day and came home with some pretty cool rocks. More from Daddy Daughter campout.
