Painting the doors
Molly wanting to help spackle

This weekend has also been busy with one other thing...WET PAINT!  We decided to save a few thousand and paint our own house.  What a project!  It actually went really well and we are thankful to have it done.  (other than the touch-ups that we will be doing tomorrow)  It looks so great and I am really happy with it.  I am however, so sore today.  We couldn't have done it without the help of my family.  THANKS!  THANKS!  THANKS!!!  It mean so much to us that you would come and help.  My sister Jess, brother in law Bart, brother John, and parents all came to help.  Dad watched Molly so I could be helping and everyone else got down and dirty.  We did the whole house in 2 tone paint.  It looks beautiful.  I thought I got more pictures, but I guess not.  I will try to get more tomorrow when I touch up.  Until then, here are some pictures of the paint crew.  I didn't get one with my mom and dad, but they helped a TON!  Thanks again family.  We are so blessed!

Celebrating Life

The last few days have been very interesting.  I have been reminded once again at the wonderful blessings that I have.  I was visiting with a new friend a few days ago and she told me that she had been married previously.  I was surprised because she just got married 2 months ago and seemed pretty young.  She told me that her first husband had died in a car accident after they had been married just 2.5 years.  Then later that night I checked my email to find out that another friend had a stillborn baby this week and invited Nick and I to the viewing and graveside service.  I couldn't quit thinking that to loose my husband or baby would be my worst nightmare.  I was heartbroken for my friend Marilyn and her husband Patrick.  When we miscarried almost 2 years ago, it was the darkest time of my life.  I couldn't imagine carrying a a baby full term and then loosing it.  The viewing was hard to see a sweet baby in a small casket, but the comments at the service were very comforting.  We are so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ and a testimony of the resurrection.  One speaker talked about how Heavenly Father gave his only perfect son for us.  Another speaker shared the scripture "Suffer the little children to come unto me."  All the comments reminded me of just how blessed I really am.  So hug your spouse, your family and your children tonight and thank God for your blessings.  I know that is what I will be doing.

Happy 6 years!

(sorry I couldn't figure out how to rotate that temple picture, but you get the idea)

Last week on the 7th of August Nick and I celebrated our 6th anniversary.  I know lots of people say this, but I can hardly believe it has been 6 years!  To celebrate the day we went on a walk at the Logan temple.  Then I gave Nick a roll of pennies that we split in half and threw in a fountain one at a time.  With each penny we told one of our favorite memories together.  The last 5 pennies we saved for future wishes.  Next we went to dinner and after dropping Molly off with my sister, we went to the new house where I set up a dessert picnic and movie.  I thought it would be cool to watch one there since that is essentially our present to each other.  We ate oreo truffles and watched 50 first dates.  Happy Anniversary Nicholas!!
House update:  Today we drove by and the siding is all on.  We are waiting for the shutters and brick, but it is looking so good! :)  We didn't have the camera with us though, so here is a picture from yesterday.  It gives you an idea of what it will look like.

A Mom Degree

I should have got a degree in being a mom.  Who would have thought that something as simple as feeding your baby could be so hard?  Today I tried to give Molly carrots and wow, what a mess.  I really did try to get it in her mouth.  She made some pretty funny faces though.

Last week was so much fun!  We started off the week going to bear lake for some camping with our friends the Hardings.  It was SO nice and SO relaxing.  Thanks Hardings for going with us!  Then upon arriving home the Sidwell's were here to visit.  We spent time playing games, watching movies, and visiting.  We LOVE when Nick's family comes.  Molly took a little while to get used to new people.  In a way I love that she is clingy to me, but I feel bad that she won't go to others sometimes.  Sorry Nana and Papa-Molly does love you!
Then off we went on Thursday to Lagoon and to a cabin for the Whitehead reunion.  It was SO great to be together as a family!!  Joseph's family came from Iowa and so we were all together.  We went to a lake, had a talent show, played games, had a family kick-ball game, and just enjoyed time around the campfire.  THANKS family for being who you are!  We LOVE you!
After all the business and not being in our beds I was worried Molly would have a hard time adjusting to being home, but she slept SO GOOD when we got home.  She woke up to eat at 4:30 and then slept until 10 am.  It was heavenly!
